We wish to acknowledge and yield to the authority of the Church, especially in light of the recent norms issued by the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith (DDF) on discerning alleged supernatural phenomena, including Marian apparitions. These norms, which took effect on Pentecost Sunday, May 19, 2024, reflect the Church’s ongoing effort to provide clarity and pastoral guidance regarding mystical experiences and their spiritual fruits.
While we fully recognize the importance of the Church's discernment process in such matters, we also wish to state that it is a historical fact that the Virgin Mary has appeared to the faithful in various places and times throughout human history. Many of these apparitions have been acknowledged by the Church, either through formal approval or recognition of their spiritual significance. The seven Marian apparitions referenced in this booklet, which span the last 194 years, are presented not as objects of obligatory belief for salvation, but as part of the broader historical reality of Marian devotion and the ongoing witness of the Church’s engagement with the spiritual experiences of the faithful.
Our intention is to highlight the messages of these apparitions as a point of reflection for the Dominican Third Order and the broader community. We seek to understand the spiritual and pastoral value of these events, while remaining obedient to the varying judgments and norms of the Church, both past and present. As the discernment process continues to evolve, we humbly submit to the Church’s authority, trusting that any future developments will provide further clarity and guidance in the discernment of such phenomena.
In conclusion, this website does not seek to promote any particular apparition as necessary for salvation, but rather to offer a historical and devotional understanding of the Virgin Mary's presence among us, mindful of the Church’s process of discernment and her ongoing care for the faithful
